The budget said switch; the patrons said otherwise
A lack of state funding pushed East Baton Rouge Parish Library off Mango and onto a cheaper platform, and Reference Coordinator Andrew Tadman was the one who had to announce it.
The reaction was immediate. Staff and patrons made their preference known clearly enough, and passionately enough, that Andrew reversed the decision and kept Mango, budget pressure notwithstanding. Patrons rarely feel strongly enough about a digital resource to campaign for it, and this one they did.
