Activity 1: Calling 9-1-1!

Mike has called 911 emergency services because he hears someone in his house. Use the provided verbs to fill in the blanks in the present continous. Don't forget to use the auxiliary verb!

  • Dispatcher: Where is the intruder now?

  • Mike: Oh no! He up the stairs!

  • Dispatcher: Please stay calm. What he now?

  • Mike: He down the hall. Wait, he my bedroom door. He through the doorway!

  • Dispatcher: OK. We the police right now.

  • Mike: OH!

  • Dispatcher: Are you OK?

  • Mike: No problem here. It was just my roommate. He around in the dark and came into the wrong bedroom.

We all have things we are currently doing. How about you? Make true sentences about your current activities using the following:

  • work out / at the gym

    I’m working out at the gym.
    I’m not working out at the gym.

  • eat / healthy food

    I’m eating healthy food.
    I’m not eating healthy food.
