Activity 1: Correcting simple sentences

Let’s take a look at some simple sentences! Some of these are correct and some are incorrect. Can you spot the incorrect sentences and fix them to make them correct?

If the sentence is correct, type “Correct”. If it is incorrect, add the corrected version of the sentence in the box.

  • The dog is sleeping.

  • A book I read.

    Wrong word order (subject + verb + direct object)

    Wrong word order (subject + linking verb + modifier)
