Exercise 1: Practicing terms of address
At school:
僕より の方が字がきれいだから、これ書いてくれる？
Boku yori ... no hō ga ji ga kirei da kara, kore kaite kureru?

Sugu ukagau to ... ni tsutaete oite kure.
Tell him that I’ll be there in five minutes.Friends talking about their mutual friend Maria:

Maria wa raigetsu, kuni ni kaeru n datte yo.
I’ve heard that Maria is going back to her home country next month.
B: えーっ、ほんと？ がいなくなると寂しくなるよね。

Exercise 2: Removing unnecessary pronouns
Your friends look up to you when it comes to Japanese grammar. They’ve asked you to correct their compositions. Let’s check each sentence or short dialogue and see if you can make it sound more natural by removing unnecessary personal pronouns. When you find words to remove, click them to highlight them! If no editing is needed, simply don't highlight anything. Don’t forget to cross out the particle that comes with the unnecessary personal pronoun!
- 私 は 大 阪 は お も し ろ い 町 だ と 思 い ま す 。
Watashi wa Ōsaka wa omoshiroi machi da to omoimasu.
I think that Osaka is an interesting town. - 私 は 犬 が 好 き で す が 、 姉 は 猫 が 好 き で す 。
Watashi wa inu ga suki desu ga, ane wa neko ga suki desu.
I like dogs, but my elder sister likes cats. - 今 日 は サ ッ カ ー の 練 習 が あ っ た 。 僕 は も う く た く た だ 。
