Activity 1: Location or direction?
Read the following sentences and for the underlined parts decide which indicates location and which indicates direction. Remember that location triggers the dative case and direction triggers the accusative case.
In der Bibliothek gibt es viele Bücher, die in den Regalen stehen.
Die Bibliothekarin stellt die Bücher ins Regal.
Der Mann legt einen Stapel Bücher auf den Tisch.
Doch dann fällt eines der Bücher vom Tisch hinunter.
Der Mann bückt sich und hebt das Buch auf und legt es neben den Stapel. Das Buch liegt auf dem Stapel.
