Activity: Being polite with subjunctive modal verbs

In this exercise, please turn the modal verbs in the parentheses into the subjunctive form and conjugate them to fill in the blank and make polite requests.

  • (dürfen) ich Sie um ihre Adresse bitten?

  • (können) du vielleicht ein wenig leiser sprechen, bitte?

  • (mögen) Sie lieber einen Kaffee oder einen Tee?

  • (können) er mir vielleicht morgen bei der Gartenarbeit helfen?

  • Entschuldigung, ich (müssen) mal hier durch gehen. (können) Sie bitte zur Seite treten?

  • (dürfen) wir vielleicht die Heizung anmachen? Es ist sehr kalt hier drin.
