Arabic (Iraqi)

Iraq is a country of extremely rich multiculturalism and history -- and unsurprisingly, the language that is primarily spoken there today is just as delightfully rich linguistically. Within the borders of Iraq was once Mesopotamia, one of the greatest ancient civilizations known to humankind and home to various cultures for centuries. Iraqi Arabic still treasures and preserves these great cultures in its spoken form. The language has many borrowed words and linguistic influences from Akkadian, Persian, Kurdish, Turkish, and most notably, Aramaic, the once lingua franca of Mesopotamia.
